  • Dr. Denise Mustiful-Martin

    Dr. Denise Mustiful-Martin is a licensed periodontist. Dr. Denise Martin is the only child of June and George Mustiful and is married to Rodney Martin, M.D., and are the proud parents of Melba Mustiful Martin, Esq. Dr. Denise Martin is a faithful member of Alfred Street Baptist Church, which is presided by the Reverend Howard John Wesley.

    Dr. Denise Mustiful-Martin hails from Chicago, IL, where she completed her primary and secondary education. After graduating from Immaculate High School, she attended Fisk University where she graduated with departmental honors in biology. While deciding which direction her life should take, she completed the Master's Degree program in Physiology at Tennessee State University in 12 months.

    Dr. Denise Mustiful-Martin attended Meharry Medical School, College of Dentistry where she obtained her D.D.S. degree. Upon completion of dental school, she practiced general dentistry in Nashville, TN and taught biology and microbiology at TSU. Dr. Denise Mustiful-Martin was accepted into the University of Tennessee’s Department of Periodontology Residence in Periodontics in 1989 and completed her surgical training in Periodontics in June of 1991. She successfully completed her state licensing exam in Periodontics July of 1992, and established Periodontal Specialist of Memphis. Dr. Martin has been a practicing dentist since 1987 and has been a periodontist since 1991. Dr. Martin has been an Adjunct Professor at Meharry Medical College, School of Dentistry since 2013.

    Dr. Denise Mustiful-Martin's practice is limited to the diagnosis, treatment and management of periodontal disease. She focuses on the reestablishment of periodontiun by utilizing many periodontal and periodontal plastic surgery procedures. She also strongly emphasizes oral health along with educating her patients on the etiology and epidemiology of periodontitis.
